Beach fishing at Tura Beach and at Dolphin Cove is a popular recreational sport amongst locals. It is quite common to see fishermen out early morning or just on dark when the fish are running. Tailor,Australian Salmon, Gummy Shark, Drummer, Blackfish and Flathead are some of the varieties of fish are caught.
Advantages of beach fishing aside from the pleasant surroundings and close proximity is the snag free fishing. At the moment the fish are shy – well at least according to the Fisk & Nagle resident angler – the water levels have been cooler.
Bait used for successful fishing include prawns, pilchards, lures and soft plastics.
